Description

B.E. Boykin, composer, pianist, and educator, joins Encore University's Masterclass series for a session on compositions and inspiration! A Zoom link for the event will be included as a part of your email receipt.

This event is free as a part of Encore Creativity's Black History Month celebration!

B.E. Boykin, an Alexandria native, is the renowned composer of new classic choral works Music of Life, We Sing As OneConsolamini, and more. The process of choral composition is a personal journey with inspiration, muse, and music. How does music affect our lives, and what part of our lives do we bring to the composition process?

In this 90-minute Masterclass, B.E. Boykin will bring her compositions to the Zoom classroom for a conversation specifically for Encore Creativity for Older Adults. Join this presentation for a vibrant conversation on the writing process, the inspiration behind Boykin's choral compositions, her techniques and methods in writing for different ensembles, and how music can connect audiences, singers, and composers alike.

Walk the journey behind the creation of one of Encore Creativity's works for the Spring 2024 semester with its composer!

Can't make it to the Zoom? A recorded version of the presentation will be available for all registrants after the session concludes!
