CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Join renowned vocal expert Kathryn Kasper for an inspiring workshop on maintaining vocal excellence throughout your life. Now in her 80s and still performing with strength and clarity, Kathryn has spent her career teaching voice to Broadway stars, preparing choruses for the Pope, and helping singers of all levels achieve their best sound. Her new set of YouTube videos help guide singers of all ages.
In this practical session, you'll explore:
- Vocal longevity techniques that keep your voice strong and healthy at any age
- Mastering the passaggio with effective strategies for smooth register transitions
- Breath support fundamentals that protect and enhance your sound

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Kathryn Kasper is Professor Emeritus of Voice, Bethel College, Kansas, USA. She has a bachelor’s degree from Bethel College, a Masters from Wichita State University and did Doctoral work at the University of Kansas. Ms. Kasper has sung concerts widely in the USA and Germany. She moved to Paraguay in 2006 as a Fulbright Award Recipient to work with UniNorte Opera. Subsiquently she began the voice program at the at the Universidad Nacional de Asuncion Facultad de Musica in 2008. Currently is teaching at Instituto Superior de Belles Artes. She regularly prepares shows for CCPA, (the American Cultural Center in Asuncion Paraguay). Included are Amahl and the Night Visitors by Menotti, , the musical The Emperor's New Clothes, the opera Rita by Donisetti and many others. She regularly prepares Musical Theater reviews for the English Institute de Stael Ruffinelli. Ms. Kasper prepares the voices for the choir for the National Orchestra and choir of the National Cathedral, Schola Cantorum. She auditioned 1700 singers for the choir when Pope Francis visited Paraguay in 2015. 540 were selected and she prepared the singers vocally. She has lived in Asuncion Paraguay nine months each year for the past 20 years with her husband Arlo Kasper. Her permanent address is in North Newton Kansas.
